What You Need To Know About Your Liver

 

Our liver is one of the most vital and largest organ in our internal body. We cannot live without it. Unfortunately many of us have overlooked the importance of it and thus have neglected our liver all together.

Human Liver sets at the right side of the abdominal cavity beneath the diaphragm and is connected to two large blood vessel. They weight an average 1.5 kilograms. The liver is a complex organ which carry out many functions in our body. The primary functions are:

  • Detoxification: We have about 5.5liters or 10pints of blood  in our body system. The liver function to filter foreign matters from our blood stream.

  • Produces bile, an alkaline agent to aid digestion

  • Protein Plasma synthesis

  • Producing Various Hormone for other bodily functions

  • Decomposition of old red blood cells

  • Glycogen storage

Because of the multi functions, the liver are exposed to various kinds of disease. The situation is made worst with human who smoke, drink and stay up late at night. Our liver require a rest period from 11pm at night right up to 6am in the morning. But sad to say, many people have not taken this rest seriously and thus have jeopardized the health of the liver.

 

A healthy liver is a prerequisite to a healthy life.
