They are normally used to assist a person to start a life long program for weight management but they do not assist in the healthful eating habits required for long term. No. Your stomach can expand to accommodate a large intake of food but it does not stretch out indefinitely. Once the food passes to your intestine, the stomach goes back to its normal size. By cutting your calories, your stomach will keep to its normal size.
Eat a small portion of any food you enjoy. If it happens to be high in fat, please make your portion small and only on occasional treats. Plan your daily meal to ensure they are varied, balance and moderate to accommodate the occasional treats.

This is possible because as you cut down on high fat food, you will also lower your calorie intake. But you will only lose if you do not compensate by eating more of other foods and not having any physical activities.
This is not necessary. A food that does not contain fat can still be high in calories from sugar and protein. You need to read the food labels to find out. No food is fattening if you take it in moderation and balanced it with physical activities.
