Gout is a preventable disease with little
understanding and care. Crystal Induced Arthritis as it is also called
is an arthritic condition when uric acid crystals accumulate in the
joints furthest away from the heart. They are usually deposited at the
joint of the toes, foot, ankle, knee, fingers, wrist and elbow.
The crystallized uric acid do not
form near to the heart for the reason our immune system senses that it
will be damaging to the heart. It occur naturally to the extend that
when the uric acid concentration level is critical, the next target of
attack will be nearer to the heart. That is why Gout starts from the
toe or foot or the finger and wrist. This is the first sign of Gout.
Gout is prevalent to men who are 40's and
above and in menopausal women. Gout can come within a short time when
the crystal forms. This is when the swelling and pain felt at the said
area and may last for up to a week or so depending on how well we treat
the Gout.
Gout are caused by:
-
Diuretic medication used to treat heart
failure and high blood pressure
-
Too much intake of nuts and soy husks.
-
Too much intake of red meat
-
Too much alcohol
-
Genetic defects in metabolism which lead
to excessive production and retention of uric acid
-
Kidney impairment which restrict it from
eliminating the the uric acid efficiently
-
Disease of the blood cells, bone marrow,
certain cancers and psoriasis
-
Obesity which reduce the metabolism
-
Low metabolism
Gout Treatment:
-
Celery extract or celery supplement is
the best natural choice to counter the effects of Gout. This has been
proven by the University of Chicago Medical Center for it's lowering
blood pressure effects.
-
Celery extracts contain diuretic
properties to melt down the crystallized uric acid from the affected
joints to be flushed out primarily through urination and secondary
through sweating.
-
Dip the affected Gout into warm water for
up to 30 minutes a few times a day. This is to uncrystallize the uric
acid from the joints and let the blood transport the uric acid to be
discharged effectively.
-
Warm up the affected Gout joints with
blanket while at sleep. This step has been proven as effective as
dipping in the warm water for countless times daily.
-
Take brief walk daily to better the blood
circulation.
Gout Prevention:
-
Reduce red meat and animal organ intake.
Red meat and animal organ are food that are high in purine.
-
Take nuts minus the husk.
-
Make sure soy products are husk free.
-
Drink plenty of water to help discharge
more uric acid from your body.
-
Reduce carbohydrate intake.
-
Increase metabolism by engaging light
exercise
-
Consider Gout Treatment as a way to Gout
Preventions as well.
